How to Use Cash Back Apps for Saving

Cash back apps have risen in popularity in recent years. It’s no wonder either, people want to save money where they can!

These apps allow you to scan your receipt from when you shop and typically will “match” offers to give you points or money back.

Two of my favorite cash back apps are Fetch and ibotta. Fetch allows you to scan any receipt for at least 25 points, but if you match certain offers, you can get much more. These points can be traded in for gift cards.

Ibotta allows you to save offers (kind of like digital coupons) and then scan your receipt (or have your loyalty account paired to the app) to match these offers and receive money back. This can be used for gift cards or sent to your back account via PayPal.

I personally like to use these apps and then use the money around the holidays. Word of caution though – ensure you know the rules of these apps. Sometimes you cannot combine sales or other coupons with these apps or they may deactivate your account. Ibotta also requires you to have a minimum of $20 in your account before you withdraw (and I believe your account needs to be at least seven days old). It’s important to remember that to save money, you’re going to want to only buy things you actually need. Don’t buy something just because there is an offer on one of the apps if you’re not going to use the item.

If you’re interested in trying these apps, feel free to use my codes to get you started! These codes will give you a good jumping off point by giving you points or money to start.

For FETCH: Use code 956GU
For IBOTTA: Use code kvjmfrc
