Side hustles are a great way to bring in extra money. Side hustles are hobbies or jobs that you do outside of your regular job and bring in extra income. This has gotten a lot more popular recently, due to the increased cost of most items.
There are so many options for side hustles and they can be temporary or more permanent. Currently, my husband and I have been getting rid of a lot of stuff that we had accumulated in our home. We’ve listed a lot of things on Facebook marketplace and sold them. This is meant to be temporary, but also has encouraged us to get rid of things we simply don’t need, want, or use anymore. I started this with the idea that we could use the money for a specific purpose and because our home is too small for all of the clutter we had in it. To be honest, I got this idea after seeing somebody on Instagram selling stuff around her home for extra money on a vacation she had coming up. While we’re not using the money for that purpose, I still thought it was a great idea.
It’s common for people to have more permanent side hustles too. Jobs that are flexible and they can add or subtract hours according to current needs. These may include:
- Blogging
- Dog walking
- Thrifting items and reselling them
- Editing
- Selling items or patterns on Etsy
- Garden stands (may include baked goods, fresh vegetables, fruits, and/or fresh flowers)
- Making and selling soap
- Transcribing
- Editing
- Virtual assistant
- Social media
- Driving for Uber
- DoorDash
- Food delivery
- Selling extra items around your home
There are so many more options too! People use side hustles to help them pay down debt, save for the holidays, save for vacations, or just to help make ends meet. Whatever your reasoning is, there are a lot of flexible options out there. It’s also smart to have a second income in case something happens to your primary job or source of income.
