After the holiday is one of the biggest and best time for purchasing clearance items. This could include toys, Christmas decor, seasonal soaps, and so much more!
My last post indicated that you can save money with social media, and this is true! However, watching stores clearance schedules can also be a huge money saver.
I’ve talked a lot about diapers because I have a little one, and those deals are so great to come by. In fact, I scored again today (you’ll see this post probably the following week though). I got the Huggies trial pack diapers (3 to a pack) for 31 cents. I scored about 79 packs of diapers for $25.96 for my daughter. That’s 237 diapers for less than $26! I also scored another 16 packs of a smaller size for a friend who is expecting her second baby boy and another 11 that I can gift to her or a family member who is expecting!
As incredible as those deals are, it’s nice to think about more than just diapers. Recently, I’ve also been on the lookout for other clearance items as well. I’ve seen Christmas trees, decor, candy, toys, hand towels, and seasonal soaps on clearance. I’ve been watching clearance prices on toys because I have 4 nephews, a niece, and my girl to buy for (plus one of my family members is expecting again). I usually buy for birthdays and Christmas for each of them, but it’s getting harder to afford it. Unfortunately, I wasn’t as quick to the deals as most people and I missed out on good toy deals. However, part of that too is just knowing what I’m willing to spend and what things may be worth. It’s important to know what items are quality and which are not, as well as what deals are actually deals and which are not. Some stores will jack up prices and then put them on “clearance” for what the normal price is! This is not always the case, and I’ve seen people score $200 toys for $20 lately. Now that’s a good deal.
I usually look for toys and other gifts for people throughout the year. It saves time and stress. So if you do find a good deal on something you know someone will love (and you buy them gifts), get the deal and save yourself a headache. In my home, we have a gift tote. I put gifts in there, so they don’t get lost and keep them until birthdays or Christmas.
It is still important to remember that just because something is on clearance doesn’t mean you have to have it or buy it. I think a lot of people get excited about good deals and then just buy unnecessary stuff. You won’t save money that way. Just keep that in mind.
Please feel free to share any good deals below! I love to hear about them!
